As we were about to board our flight, my stepmother suddenly breached the airport security checkpoint and tried to ki:dnap my baby right out of my arms.
“Give her to me!” Patricia screamed. “That baby belongs with family!”
Before I could react, she crashed into me. My shoulder hit the metal edge of the stroller, and Lily screamed. Patricia grabbed the blanket wrapped around my daughter’s legs, pulling so hard that Lily nearly slipped from my arms.
